The link didn't work, so I didn't get to see the video. I sense, however, some support for Senator Obama? Just want you to know there is at least one LDS family who loves him, up here in Washington State. (We are "a bunch of tree-huggers," after all.)

aww... I'm sorry you couldn't see it. Go to NBC dot com, it's the SNL skit from this week. Hi La Ri Ous.

I'm so glad there are other Obamites out there! We should form our own sudnay school class, Putz, and Dallan! :)

Yes... we got the whole talking to this week, about "examine your choices carefully... make sure you make the choice to make America what we, as members of the church, want it to be..." I almost called out, Obama! But I didn't. Because, you know. I admire your gall, Putz. I'll think of you next sunday and maybe I'll be more courageous.

I was hoping that was the video. My husband emailed it to me this morning. Wasn't that the real Sarah Palin? What an amazing impersonation!

Sign me up for that Sunday school class, please!

okay, that lady did a realllly good impersonation of Palin. Hillary-ious.

I don't like Obama, though. I hope we can still be friends.

Tina Fey... from day one, everyone thought governor Palin looked like her, and so everyone was ecstatic when the SLC comedienne did the skit as her. :)

Yes, Adelle. Yes. We can still be friends. We don't want to end up in any sharks/jets fiascos...

I dunno, I know quite a few supporters who thought it was funny. We take politics way to seriously.

This was hilarious! However, I'm still a McCain/Palin supporter, and I thought you were too. Truthfully, I cannot see Michelle Obama as First Lady. She comes across as bitter and bigoted...and maybe a tad self-righteous and self-centered. Cindy McCain, on the other hand, has always (from what I can see) observed "charity never faileth, even to the point of living and serving in dirty, dangerous areas...and adopting one of Mother Teresa's orphans. Can you see Obama's wife getting involved in any humanitarian work beyond her own home?

Guess I'm going a little overboard here. I'm just looking for someone with experience, proven leadership ability, and expertise...not someone with charisma and star appeal who makes great speeches.

Just curious, why do you like Obama?

Unknown said...

I guess the only thing I can say is...

I like Obama because I believe he will try to do the things he says he is going to try to do. I believe he really means what he says. As far as I can see, the people who don't like him, don't believe him. As for Michelle... a lot of the things she has said have been taken out of context. And, gosh... so many email messages and carefully edited youtube videos are floating about... I just don't really worry that much. People will twist things the way they want to... on either side. For instance, there is all that about Cindy McCain faking home baked cookie recipes on the website, there is the fact that she was the "other woman" whilst McCain was still married to his first wife. Nobody's perfect... so I pick people who I agree with. :)

For a full disclosure of all my reasons for liking/disliking both candidates, you can go here: http://consciousignorance.blogspot.com/2008/07/olbama-was-race-horse.html And here:http://nosurf.blogspot.com/2007/12/democratic-debate-hosted-by-npr.html

Thanks for asking... I like it when people ask me, instead of dismissing me as idealist, or not having thought through the candidates and issues, and whatever else.

I think Obama has good ideas and values, but when it comes down to it, I can't vote for him because of the abortion issue and also I feel more safe with McCain because I feel like he knows how to defend our country.

Shannon,

I understand your feelings. In a way I agree, in a way I don't... I feel like diplomacy, pulling our troops out of Iraq, and being more tied to the UN and other world organizations is the only way we're going to solve the problem... scary as the idea sounds. I don't think we can fight terrorism by ourselves. The scariest thing to aknowledge is the fact that we can't do it on our own... especially not while we're fighting a war (that I don't think we needed to fight. Afghanistan, yes. Iraq, no.) Anyway... so yeah.

It's good to have discussions like this.

I laughed. I cried. Watched it again and laughed some more.

As an Alaskan and Palin fan, I can only say that was awesome. If you can't have some fun with the things you believe in, admire, adore, whatever, you might as well not live, right?
