Mormons and potlicial affiliation

Thank you, Dallan, for digging this out of the SL trib archives. Wonderful article... so well said. I wanted to give it a post of its own!

We all have our right to choose, that is what being an American is about.

I like this article...and I really agree. I am registered as a republican (mostly so I can vote in caucuses), but in reality I am not a great deal more likely to vote for a republican over a democrat. I try really hard to look into each candidate and choose the one I think will do best regardless of party.

I am actually getting pretty sick of many of the republicans who hold office in Utah right now and seem to do whatever they want without regard to the people they represent. I find this extremely irritating and hope that some of them get voted out this election. I think that Utah is a good example right now of the dangers of having too much domination from one party, and I definitely think some strong ethics standards need to be implemented.

Great post. I absolutely agree with the premise.

Times are changing and young Latter-day Saints are "re-balancing" the parties.

That, Skywalker, is the biggest reason why I love the Obama phenomenon. People have come out of the woodwork to vote for him... people who, before, might not have voted due to bitterness, or feeling like their vote didn't count enough, or questioning their own political beliefs. Hooray, that there as just as many active in both parties at BYU, which could be argued is the center of the "mormon culture" phenomenon. :)

Somehow I knew that you would come over and gloat a bit, but I forgive you.

We are working on the power - point demonstration on how to do the procedure and when we get it finished I will email it to you. It is actually, very easy and you only use a 1/2 teaspoon of salt, which is optional if you don't want salt. Keep working on your food storage.

Gloating about voting... not about candidates. I love this time of year if only because everyone is so into government, and into making their own difference. :)

I'm actually trying not to gloat about Obama winning. I realize that my friends and family are deeply dissappointed some of them, and I respect that. I could have been, too.
